Name: Rua
Series: Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s
Canon-Point: After the very end of the Dark Signers arc!
History: Ta-da!
Personality: Rua and Ruka are like day and night. Where Ruka’s calm, seemingly introverted, and polite, Rua… is not. He’s a lively and spirited boy, always energetic… though, he has a nasty tendency to not look before he leaps. He’s the type to come up with zany schemes, however more often than not, they’re likely to be shot down by Ruka, who’s the more sensible one of the two. Though Rua’s had a history of overconfident and even cocky tendencies, recently he’s wised up a bit and is somewhat more humble. Rua can be cheerful and something of a blundering idiot, but he’s quite capable and serious when the situation calls for it.

Despite the fact that Rua and Ruka haven’t really been around other people that much, Rua’s extraversion hasn’t been impaired in the slightest. He’s very friendly and talkative. No matter how many friends he has, however, Ruka will always come first. He’s protective of his sister, and she often looks to him for encouragement in times of need. Even though Rua’s usually brimming with confidence, he can and will have his moments of self-doubt. Fortunately, he’s able to overcome them and pull through, if not for his own sake, then for his sister’s.

First-Person Sample: [Oops, looks like someone’s face is a little close to the camera.] Oh, hey, that’s where the lens is! [Rua finally pulls away from the camera, but as he does, a Bagon pushes its way into view.] Hey, guys, I was just wondering about that whole gyms and badges thing! Does anyone want to make it a race to see who can collect all eight first?! Not that you guys are gonna have much of a chance, though, ‘cuz I’m gonna win!
Third-Person Sample: Well, that was a bit of a letdown. Rua sat in the Pokémon Center in Striaton City, sulking, his Bagon seated next to him. His very first gym battle… and he lost miserably. He knew he could challenge the gym again, but it was pretty discouraging nonetheless! He turned to the small Dragon-type that sat next to him, patting its head. “We’ll get ‘em next time, won’t we, little buddy?” The Bagon looked up at him and nodded with a determined look in its eyes. Rua looked at it for a moment or two before he finally jumped up, pumping a fist in the air. “All right! There’s only one thing to do now, and that’s train! Come on, Ace! Let’s head to the Dreamyard!” Ace mimicked the trainer’s actions.

Rua bolted of the Pokémon Center as fast as his legs could carry him, and his Bagon followed behind, albeit a bit slower. “We’ll get that badge! No matter what it takes!”
